Our Newfoundland Circle – Part 2 shows were well received, the audiences included a crowd of Newfoundlanders, I think we decided the wife of a brother had baked the Partridge Berry pie we had at Triton Harbour, if that makes any sense! It was nice to have my mom, dad (sorry not to see Marion) and sister as well as Jayne’s sister and partner in the audience. The weather in Vancouver was superb if a bit wet, some flowers out on our walk to Granville Island to view the in water part of the boat show. Jayne and I both liked the Nordic Tug 39, it’s beautifully finished, we’re starting to save now. With the shows finished we’re on Vancouver Island visiting family and friends in Victoria’s James Bay. My mom and I made a foggy drive out to Sooke yesterday but it was a bit wet for walking. Tomorrow at 615 we fly back to chilly Ontario, no flowers for a few months yet.

you were both wonderful at the vancouver boat show – natural, humorous and well-informed, as always :-). wonderful footage of the dolphins and you both sailing. wonderful still pictures and beautiful paintings as well. i hope the lovely people from newfoundland who were there the 22nd see this and send you a picture of their family – i only got one picture and it didn’t include everyone as i was enjoying the discussion so much :-). it was really nice to hear and see you interacting with such a great audience that knew the territory, enjoyed your sailing adventures and could appreciate them all the more because they’ve sailed those challenging waters themselves. i believe it was the man who owned the fish boat he kept in st. anthony (lives in triton) who’s sister baked the partridge berry pie you bought at the gas station in triton.
i love the picture of you at granville island – it looks like a great boat you and jayne are saving for :-). i also love the picture of the 4 little, victorian house in downtown van., where once only houses like that stood. wonderful picture of a ferry leaving horseshoe bay in the sun. also a great picture of the horse drawn buggy in victoria and beautiful picture of iron mine bay at east sooke park; you and mom smiling
:-). you must have walked up the hill my friends and i walked up once in /83 or /84 on our way home from a day’s hike there to get that great shot of the bay. it’s a beautiful place – i wish i’d been there to share it with you both.
